Josh knows exactly what it took for him to play the game at the highest level. He knows the work he put in at every stage—from high school to arenas all over the world And now, he’s taken everything he did and magnified it, making his approach more difficult, more intense, and more effective for the athletes he trains.
For years, Josh only trained his own kids. People asked him repeatedly to train their children, and his answer was always the same: "I just train my kids."
That all changed after a conversation with his mother. She reminded him that he had a wealth of knowledge that not everyone has access to—the highs, the lows, the grind, and the lessons that go beyond the game. She told him he had an opportunity to give back, to use his experiences for something bigger.
Josh believes that confidence breeds greatness—not just in basketball, but in life. His workouts are designed to push players outside their comfort zones, challenge them in ways that make their successes truly earned. And when that moment happens—when a kid finally gets it—the joy, the excitement, the newfound confidence bleeds onto the court, into the classroom, and into everyday life.
There are plenty of great trainers in the area, and Josh understands that choosing the right one can feel like a competition. But one thing you’ll never get from him is territorial behavior.
If he trains your child one week and doesn’t see them again for a year? The next time they walk through the door, they’ll be met with a big hug and the same energy as if they never left.
The game teaches lessons far beyond a one-hour training session. It’s about growth, discipline, and confidence—and that’s exactly what Kanali Training is built on.
